Bridgeworks joins Covid-19 fight

Bridgeworks donated millions of pounds worth of software to help the fight against Covid-19 coronavirus. Bridgeworks’, which specialises in high-speed data transfer technology, has offered their products and services for sharing “big data” to all the UK’s NHS trusts, medical research centres, universities and other facilities investigation COVID-19 for free, for a year.

The firms’ bosses says networks such as the internet, are often affected by issues which can slow data transmission, and it’s AI-driven software PORTrockIT, can boost speeds up to 50 times.

David Trossell, CEO and CTO of Bridgeworks, said:

“As a company, we believe it can accelerate the critical path of discovery of a cure, and good outcomes for COVID-19 researchers and as a British Company, Bridgeworks already has a widely published track record with significant international reach.”

Bridgeworks has confirmed it is currently in talks with one Russell Group University and some NHS trusts. Based at Ampress Park, Bridgeworks is also inviting labs and facilities at the centre of the coronavirus fight to share their research data “quickly and without cost.”

The company which employs 20, works with local schools, colleges and universities to promote STEM subjects – science, technology, engineering and maths – and has its own apprenticeship scheme.
